The funny things kids say

This was Ava's prayer before bed last night..."Dear Jesus, Thank you for the great day. I knew you could do it! Amen."

At nap time today, after she had been in her room for 15 mins, I went to tell her to go back to bed. When I asked why she wasn't sleeping, she replied, "Dolphin (referring to her stuffed animal) is yelling so I can't sleep!" I removed the noisy troublemaker from her room and then told her to get back in bed. A half hour later, I went once again to tell her to get back in bed and this time she said, "They are laughing at me and being mean!" I asked who was doing this she answered, "my animals!" So I removed ALL the stuffed animals from her room so she could sleep. She never did sleep. She must have run out of creative excuses because she just told me she wasn't tired from then on. :)

Ava-isms

I thought I would share a few Ava funnies from this week with you...


Me: "Ava, what did you learn in Sunday school today?"
Ava: "Mom, they were building a temper (meaning temple)!!"



One night at dinner...
Ava: "You eat what your momma makes and you don't explain!" (meaning complain)

Anyone out there a spray tanner?

Dan and I leave a week from today for Cancun! It's a bit scary to think about putting on a swim suit though...I'm a nice shade of pale. I was considering getting a spray tan since I refuse to voluntarily give myself skin cancer via a traditional tanning bed. I'm a little hesitant though as this is totally new to me. Anyone out there have experiences with spray tans? good, bad? just looking for some advice before I jump in and do it. I don't want to look like a fool on my vacay!

Ava: "Mom, I need to give you something."
Me: "What is it?"
Ava: "See this sock? It is all estrangled!" (as she hands me a sock turned inside out)




Me: "Ava, please stop crying. Throwing a fit doesn't get you anything."
Ava: "I can't stop! My throat won't stop crying!"


At the Wendy's drive thru:
Ava: "Mom, is that a girl or a boy?" (the employee at the window was a very masculine female)
Me: "Ava, be quiet!" (as I tried not to look the poor women in the eye)

Honest question for her age, but embarrassing nonetheless!
