And he speaks!

For those of you who knew Ava when she was little, she had quite the vocab by the time she was 18months. Anderson, on the other hand, has been what I like to call a "selective mute." He really has said nothing but mama for months. At his 12 month check up, I shrugged it off when they said he should have b/t 4-7 words. Some kids have to be below average so there can be an average right? But as 18 months approached and he still wasn't saying anything, I started to get a little concerned. I started to wonder what the Dr. would say when we went to his check up. But FINALLY about 2 weeks ago, he started saying several words. He now has around 15 words. I honestly think he has the ability to say many more words, but why talk when Ava will do it for you!

When it rains, it pours

Everything in our house is breaking!!! OK...that's an exaggeration, but we have had several things start going wonky on us. The garage door will not close unless you hold the inside button down until it is completely closed. This means every time I leave, I have to pull the car out and then get out go in and shut it. Annoying!! also, our shower door broke. One of the hinges snapped. Who knew shower doors could be so costly! Our truck is starting to fall apart, too. Nothing major at this point, but small little things that are adding up. We need at minimum 6 more months out of it! There are several other small things acting up as well. Ugh! all those small things add up. I guess that's what an emergency fund is for!

What's new with our 2...

First day of Preschool

Last Wednesday was Ava's first day of preschool! She loves her teacher and was super excited to find out her friend from last year, Alyson, was in her class. I was afraid she would cry and make a big scene at drop as she's known to be emotional. :) She walked right into the classroom and sat down at her seat. Didn't even fuss! She has now completed 3 days and still loves it. Mom loves the 3 mornings a week with only 1 kid too!

Sippy vs. glass

OK moms, here's a question for you. At what age do you give up the sippy cup and move onto using a regular glass? Ava can drink from a regular glass/cup, but primarily for my sake, I have just continued to use a sippy. I'm wondering what everyone's opinion is on the matter.

I did come across these cups that have a silicone exterior to help prevent slipping. I thought that these might be useful. What do you think? Worth $8 a glass or should I just use a regular kids cup? Val's View blog did a review of these and is giving one away. She seemed to think these were a good product. I see what you have to say...maybe I'll have to try one.
